By default, messages are publicly visible. You also have the option of marking them as “Unlisted” (not included in public timelines), “Followers-only” or “Direct” (only to those mentioned, e.g. “@Mary” or @Joseph@theres.life).
Messages can also be marked with a “Content Warning” so people are not caught off-guard. For example, you might want to include some comments on a new movie which includes a “spoiler”. Be nice and mark it with a CW!
Finally, messages can also include other media such as pictures and videos. When you attach these, you have the option to “Mark media as sensitive” so that those who see the message must click on a placeholder to view it.
Oh — for those so inclined, you may also include an “emoji” too.
Hashtags? You bet!
Feel free to include one or more hashtags, similar to other services, in your messages. For example, if you include “#GospelToday” in a message, it can be found by everyone who searches for it. Hashtags can even be followed! They are an easy way to group messages by topic.
Searching can also be used to find people (e.g. @Joseph) and by any text contained in past posts you touched (posted, received, favourited or boosted).
RCsocial.net is available on every desktop and mobile device.
The RCsocial.net website is fully responsive and works well on almost every device. That is, it adapts as necessary and even supports notifications. Additionally, mobile browser “Add to Home screen” function makes the website very app-like. It’s probably all you need.
However, many other apps are available so you are not locked into just this one.
